Welcome to my site
My name is Dan, and I have created this website to serve two purposes: To compile all of my research on the veteran suicide epidemic for my graduate case study, and to present that information in an easy-to-understand way to aid other veterans who may be struggling. This site is in its infancy and looks incredibly rough so I hope to improve its functionality in the near future. *PLEASE NOTE* This case study has been re-written and re-focused so many times I have lost count. The Scribd document appearing on this page should be the most up-to-date version possible. I plan to take the research I have done for the paper that did not make the final cut and put it on this site in a more optimized fashion in the very near future. Until then this site is very much a work in progress. And the Scribd format is a bit wonky so keep that in mind. Additional note- The use of the phrase "committed suicide" is no longer used in academic literature as the language implies it is somehow the fault of the victim, rather than the existence of an unaddressed mental illness. This case study will not use the phrase "committed suicide," replacing it with "died by suicide." If you would like to read more, check out this link. |
